External Parameter Name

Go to: Models tab>

A dialog box that allows you to specify an External Parameter Name for each Internal Parameter Name appears automatically after adding a model. The External Parameter Name is viewed by your customers.

If the model does not include a design table, and was not saved using the default configuration, the Specify External Parameters dialog box is not displayed. The model you add must comply with model requirements.

You can also enter an External Parameter Name after you add a model that includes a design table, or you can edit an existing External Parameter Name.

You can add an External Parameter Name (for example, box width) for each Internal Parameter Name (for example, box_width@Sketch1). You create the Internal Parameter Name when you dimension the model using SolidWorks. Any dimension added to the model is included in the list.

To specify an external parameter name:

  1. Type a value for External Parameter for each Internal Parameter.

  2. Click Save.

Optionally, for each External Parameter that you define, you can also add a Description. The  description supports basic HTML tags (such as <b>description</b>), and appears when your pointer pauses over the appropriate external parameter on the end user's 3D ProductPage web site.

To specify a description:

  1. Type a value for External Parameter.

  2. Type a value for Description.

  3. Click Save.
