Go to: Models tab>Add New Model
The Add Model function allows you to add parts, assemblies, or drawings using the same dialog box.
Before adding the model, you must use WinZip® to create a compressed (.zip) file containing the model and all its related files.
The
name of the .zip file must be
the same name as the root file, the highest level assembly or part.
For example, you must create a .zip file named crnkshft.zip to add a part named crnkshft.sldprt. 3D PartStream.NET supports ProE®, IGES®, and ACIS® formats as well.
To add a model using a single .zip file:
On the left panel, select a category to add the file to that category.
If you do not select a category,
the new .zip file is added at
the root level (beneath Catalog).
On the right panel, the Category dialog updates to the category you selected.
On the right panel, click Add New Model.
In the Add Model to [name of your catalog] dialog box:
Click Browse to locate the .zip file.
Under Select Item Type, chose either Model (parts or assemblies) or Drawing.
If you add a drawing, you can use the Map Drawings function. It allows
you to associate (map) a specific configuration to a specific drawing.
Select the appropriate file type from the Model (for parts or assemblies), or Drawing lists.
You can associate drawings with non-SolidWorks files. For example, you can associate a SolidWorks drawing with a ProE model, or a DWF drawing with a SolidWorks model.
Select Gif/Jpg to
add an image as a placeholder for a model. This allows you to populate
your site with images of models that you intend to add at a future time.
Click Add.
A message confirms the item is added to the appropriate category.
You can also add a .zip part or
assembly file using the Add Model Wizard interface. When
adding files using the Add Model Wizard,
the name of the model and the name of the .zip
file do not
have to be identical.
To add multiple files, you can use the Publish Models tool to batch upload model files from a specified folder.
To install the Publish Models tool:
Log in to 3D Content Manager.
In the Address line, after http://www.3dpublisher.net/3DContentManager/ type publishmodels.html.
Click Yes in the Security Warning dialog box.
Follow the Publish Models install wizard directions.
