Troubleshooting the Viewer

Windows Issues

Follow the troubleshooting steps. After each step, restart your machine and the Viewers.

To check for Windows installation issues:

  1. System Requirements. Check System Requirements to ensure your configuration is supported.

  2. Restart. Restart Windows.

  3. Reinstall. Many issues are related to problems with previous installations of the Viewers, the browser, or the browser configuration.

Browser Issues

Some 2D or 3D Viewer problems require changes to the installed browser:

To verify or change security settings:

  1. In Internet Explorer, click Tools, Internet Options, and on the Security tab, select Internet.

  2. If the Security level is set to High or to a custom level, it might prevent viewing of ActiveX controls.

Typically, security levels are set to the Medium: Default Level. Both Download Signed ActiveX controls and Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins are not Disabled. (Select either Enable or Prompt).

  1. Verify that your Permissions allow you to install ActiveX controls or plug-ins.

Video Driver Issues

Update your video drivers, especially if you experience a freeze or crash when installing or using the 2D or 3D Viewers.

To check your video driver brand:

  1. Right-click on your Desktop and choose Properties, Settings, Advanced, Adapter to view the manufacturer's name.

  2. Refer to the manufacturer's web site for assistance or to download the latest drivers.

Reinstall the Viewers

You can also re-install the 2D or 3D Viewers.
