Localization

Go to: Catalog tab>Localization

Use the Localization dialog box to translate parameters and parameter values from an existing Base Language - the language used with your model parameters - to any of 16 languages. The Localization page is dynamic, with options based on your selection of the Text To Be Translated and Translate Text tabs.

Quick Start

To translate parameter entries:

  1. Click Refresh Data.

  2. From the Localization page, click Translate Text.

  3. Select a language from the list.

  4. Select the check box next to Base Language to choose all entries or select individual entries to translate only those entries. Click Translate.

  1. Type the translation next to each entry.

  2. Click Save Translation.

Localization Functions

All tabs except Text To Be Translated and Translate Text are available at both the top and bottom of the page.

Search

To search entries:

  1. Type an entry in Search for words like and click to initiate a search.

A list of matching entries is displayed.

  1. Click Text To Be Translated to return to the main Localization dialog box.

Text To Be Translated

Click to list all parameters requiring translation from the Base Language. When selected, the following options are available:

Delete

To delete a parameter entry:

  1. From the Localization page, select the entries you want to remove from the database.

  2. Click Delete.

To delete all entries, choose Select All.

Refresh Data

Click to refresh the data so that new parameters or parameter values are added to the database without affecting previously translated entries.

Batch Translation

Click Batch Translation to import and export a list of features using an XML file.

Batch Translation is also available from the Translate Text tab.

Translate Text

Click to translate the selected entries or to edit previously translated terminology. When selected, the following options are available:

Batch Translation

When you select Batch Translate with a language selected, only that language is included. However, if you select Batch Translate from the Text to be Translated dialog box, all languages are selected for translation.

To batch translate parameter entries:

  1. From the Localization dialog box, click Text To Be Translated.

  2. Click Batch Translation.

  3. Click for <language selected> Translation.

If you selected Batch Translation from the Text to be Translated dialog box, you are prompted by Download for All Languages.

This downloads all parameters and parameter values from your models to a file using an XML format.Translate the entries in the XML file.

  1. Click Save As to save the file to disk and then exit the file. Make sure that the file extension is .XML, and note the location of the saved file.

  2. Click Browse to locate the XML file on your system.

  3. Click Upload XML File to upload the file back to the server.

  4. Click Text To Be Translated.

Editing

To edit a parameter entry:

  1. From the Localization page, click Translate Text.

  2. Select the entries you want to change.

  3. Click Translate.

  4. Edit each entry.

  5. Click Save Translation.

To remove an existing translation, you can clear the entry and click Save Translation.
