The 3D Publishing Partner creates a catalog database on the PartStream server. In most cases, each manufacturer has a single catalog database to store their product information. Customers use a login ID and password to access catalogs through 3D PartStream.NET Content Manager that uses a web interface allowing customers to load and manage models.
To add a model, you must use WinZip® to create a compressed (.zip) file containing the model and all its related files.
The name of the model file can include "-" (dashes), " " (spaces), and "_" (underscores).
Do not use of special characters such as "*" (asterisks), "$" (dollar signs), and "~" (tilde).
3DPartStream.Net supports:
Model file formats: SolidWorks parts and assemblies, ProE® parts and assemblies, IGES®, ACIS®, STEP, Parasolid® Text, and Parasolid Binary.
Drawing file formats: SLDDRW, DRW, and DXF.
The
name of the .zip file must be
the same name as the model file. For example, to add an assembly named
crnkshft.sldasm, create a .zip
file named crnkshft.zip.
Each .zip file must contain:
Model file. For example, a SolidWorks part (.sldprt) or assembly (.sldasm).
Component files of the assembly. All supporting SolidWorks parts or sub-assemblies.
The .zip file may also contain:
2D drawings. The drawing file (.slddrw).
Graphic file. The graphic file (.tiff or .jpeg) for static viewing.
You can also use the Add Model Wizard to add models to your catalog. With the Add Model Wizard method, there is no single model restriction for the .zip file. The .zip file can include more than one model.
